The wheel of concerns<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In the framework of the ECOTRAD project, a workshop was organised to identify the main concerns of the participants at the time. First, the participants were asked to list on post-it their major concerns. Then, the post-it were sort collectively by topic similarity ; this genarated 6 principal groups, which are : youth future, caribou and land, elders knowledge, mining, jobs, tourism, and the Sami. Finally, the number of post-it that constituted each group reflected the interest that was agreed to this group. Thus, a note was attributed to each topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result was discussed with the participant to evaluate whether the chart was representative of their thoughts, or not.<\/p>\n

The participants worry a lot about the youngest and their future, this is their major concern. The second most important issue is the caribou resource and the land preservation, both threatened by the mining impacts. The third important topic deals with Elders knowledges and their transmission to the new generations. Etc. …<\/p>\n
